About the Company

Founded in 2017, Veo's mission is to establish micro-mobility as a true transportation system to reduce automotive use and promoted widespread utilization of shared alternative mobility in a safe and reliable way. In pursuit of this mission, Veo currently partners with urban areas across the United States where the company's fleet vehicles (electric scooters, bikes, etc.) can be launched as a form of public transportation.

Responsibilities and Results

Within New Brunswick, NJ, I was employed as a part-time Maintenance Technician responsible for the upkeep of fleet vehicles to ensure customer accessibility. Veo's fleet vehicles are subject to all types of physical wear, whether it be due to environmental conditions or customer use; thus, continuous maintenance was necessary to keep units available to the public.

about me

My main responsibility was to diagnose fleet vehicles for mechanical and electrical issues to maintain over 700 functioning units available for customer use. As Field Specialists brought back non-functioning units, I had to identify the issues with each vehicle and perform the proper repairs in a timely manner. New Brunswick was allocated about 700 units, so as a result, I met daily repair quotas to maximize potential number of customers.

about me

Meanwhile, I also coordinated with Field Specialists to develop improved inflow procedures for fleet vehicles requiring maintenance such that repair times were reduced by 20 percent. I asked Field Specialsits to attach their inital thoughts to each non-functioning unit upon retrieval. While this adds about 1 minute to their process, it saves my diagnosis about 5 minutes; thus, average repair times dropped from 25 to 20 minutes.

Additionally, I audited internal maintenance systems weekly to ensure vehicle repair history and inventory of replacement parts were accurate. Through Veo's own maintenance application and UpKeep, an asset management software, I documented our operations to inform upper management of our needs in a weekly status report.
